Wind of the Black Mountains is a historic and uncompromising project founded in 1992 by the late Jeff Elrod (Tchort), standing as one of the pioneers and ideological pillars of American black metal (USBM). The band completely bypassed contemporary trends, forging a raw, vicious, and occult sound heavily inspired by the early European school. Their music is a dark and majestic form of old-school black metal, where high-speed, ferocious assaults alternate with ritualistic, mid-tempo passages, raw guitar tones, and an atmosphere of pure Satanism and anti-Christian defiance. The project permanently etched its name into the global underground history as an unyielding bastion of darkness that laid the very foundation for the extreme metal movement in the United States.
