Toxodeth is a Mexican avant-garde death / thrash metal band formed in 1984 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, by guitarist and vocalist Raúl Guzmán under the original moniker Toxic. The outfit stands as one of the earliest pioneers of the Mexican extreme metal scene and an absolute cult force within Latin American underground history. The band's sonic signature features a chaotic and highly unconventional approach: raw, brutal old-school death/thrash metal blended with surreal keyboard interludes, neoclassical guitar solos, psychedelic soundscapes, and experimental songwriting structures. Conceptually and lyrically, the project is strictly dedicated to themes of occultism, horror, mysticism, darkness, and curses.
