Skratte was founded as a solo project by Hevnbrann in 2012 with the aim of materializing his musical visions. Inspired by the coldness and brutality of Norwegian black metal, as well as the characteristic versatility and harmonious playing of the French, Skratte combines a wide variety of elements and motifs in their original sound.

While "Akt I" still had a more classic, melodic black metal orientation with elements of folk, "Akt II" allows Hevnbrann to rise above the boundaries of traditional folk black, often crossing and combining fierce black metal with epic male vocals, gothic rock reminiscences, monumental acoustic arrangements and melancholic violins into a completely unique soundscape that attracts listeners and then relentlessly captivates them.
