The Swedish duo SKALD was formed in 2005 when the two old friends David Wiktorsson (guitars) and Henrik Kindvall (vocals) decided to start their own folkmetal band. Heavily influenced by the band OTYG, they managed to record the two rough-sounding demos "Sagor Från Skogstjärnen" and "Trolska Vemodsband" in 2006 and release them both for free at the website.
