Sear Bliss is a Hungarian atmospheric / avant-garde black metal band formed in 1993 in Szombathely by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist András Nagy. The outfit stands as an entirely unique and monumental pillar of the Eastern European extreme metal scene. The band's sonic signature is instantly recognizable due to its seamless integration of brass instrumentation (specifically trombone) into dense, epic black metal enriched by atmospheric synth work, heavy riffing, and somber melodies. Conceptually and lyrically, the project focuses on themes of darkness, outer space, introspection, nature, mysticism, and existential decay.
