Ruadh (pronounced "ru-ah") began his career as the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Tom Perrett from Glasgow, Scotland. Starting life as a solo project, Ruadh signed with Northern Silence Productions almost immediately after completing their debut album.

The project has grown in popularity, gaining a name for itself internationally, releasing three albums to date. After the release of their third album, Ruadh transformed from a solo project into a full-fledged band and played their first concert outside the country at the Darktroll Festival in Germany. More live performances with the band's stable lineup are currently planned.

Like its predecessors, the material on the new album "1296" also explores the history and mythology of Scotland as a nation in a musical context, with each album telling the story of a specific period in the country's rich history.
