Nihilist is a Swedish death metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1987. They are regarded as pioneers of Swedish death metal, laying the foundation for the famous “Stockholm sound.” Members — Lars Göran Petrov, Alex Hellid, Nicke Andersson, and others — recorded several demos, including «Premature Autopsy» (1988), «Only Shreds Remain» (1989), and «Drowned» (1989). In 1989, Nihilist disbanded, but most members continued under the new name Entombed, which became one of the most influential acts in the genre.
