Master's Hammer is a Czech avant-garde / black metal band formed in 1987 in Prague by vocalist and visual artist Franta Štorm and drummer Ferenc Fečo. The outfit is widely regarded as one of the most vital and influential acts of the first wave of black metal in Eastern Europe, with their seminal album Ritual. standing as a foundational classic. The band's sonic signature is utterly unique: a blend of raw, heavy black metal with sophisticated neoclassical arrangements, timpanis, unexpected percussion, theatrical vocals, and lyrics delivered strictly in Czech. Conceptually and lyrically, the band weaves a distinct blend of occultism, Satanism, dark humor, surrealism, and Czech folklore.
