Marilyn Manson is an American industrial rock / alternative metal band formed in 1989 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, by vocalist Brian Warner (who adopted the eponymous stage name Marilyn Manson) and guitarist Daisy Berkowitz. The outfit became one of the most controversial, influential, and provocative forces in shock rock during the 1990s and 2000s. The band's sonic signature fuses abrasive industrial metal, raw glam rock, and dark gothic aesthetics.
