Malevolent Creation is an American death metal band formed in 1987 in Buffalo, New York. In 1988, the band relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, becoming part of the legendary local death metal scene. Their music combines the brutality of death metal with aggressive riffs, fast tempos, and strong early thrash metal influences. Their 1991 debut album The Ten Commandments, released by Roadrunner Records, is regarded as one of the landmark releases of American death metal. Malevolent Creation became one of the bands that helped shape the distinctive sound of the Florida death metal scene in the early 1990s.
