Kublai Khan is a thrash metal band from Minneapolis, formed in 1984. Known for their classic mid-to-late 1980s sound, they combined fast riffs, aggressive vocals, and apocalyptic themes. Early releases include the demo Rape, Pillage & Destroy (1985) and Prepare for Annihilation (1986). Their only full-length album Annihilation (1987) secured their place in the thrash scene, though the band was active only until 1988. In 2017, they reunited, performing again at festivals and club venues. Their lyrical themes revolve around death, war, and destructive imagery.
