Judas Iscariot was an American black metal project founded in 1992 by musician Andrew Harris, better known by his pseudonym Akhenaten. The project became one of the most significant acts of the American black metal scene during the 1990s, combining a raw sound, dark atmosphere, and strong inspiration from the early Norwegian black metal movement. Most of the material was recorded solely by Akhenaten, giving the music a highly personal and consistent character. Judas Iscariot's most notable releases include The Cold Earth Slept Below... (1996), Heaven in Flames (1999), Dethroned, Conquered and Forgotten (2000), To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding (2002), and An Ancient Starry Sky (2018).
