Horna is a veteran Finnish black metal band from Lappeenranta, formed in 1994 by guitarist and main composer Shatraug. One of the most prolific and respected acts in the Finnish black metal underground, Horna is known for their raw, cold, and grim traditional black metal sound — dark, hateful, and atmospheric, with a strong emphasis on occult themes and northern darkness. The band has released over fifty works throughout their long career and remains a cornerstone of the Finnish BM scene. Key releases include the classic debut Kohti Yhdeksän Nousua (1998), Haudankylmyyden Mailla (1999), Ääniä Yössä (2006), Sotahuuto (2007), and the recent Nyx – Hymnejä Yölle (2024).
