Faidra is a Swedish atmospheric/orthodox black metal solo project founded in 2019. The creator remains anonymous, allowing the music to speak for itself. The style is heavily inspired by early 1990s Scandinavian black metal, particularly Burzum, but also incorporates influences from film and video game scores. The debut album Six Voices Inside (2020) was well received, featuring themes of exorcism and atmospheres reminiscent of the Dark Souls saga. The second album Militant : Penitent : Triumphant (2023) expanded on these ideas, focusing on sin, penance, and redemption within a religious framework. Faidra’s sound blends cold Scandinavian atmospheres with spiritual and mystical undertones, making it a distinctive presence in the modern black metal scene.
