Einherjer are true titans of the Norwegian scene who, since 1993, have served as primary architects of the Viking metal genre. Their work masterfully fuses the harsh energy of black metal with epic Northern melodies and marching rhythms that evoke the atmosphere of ancient sagas. As early as their debut album, Dragons of the North (1996), the band established the genre's standards, creating a monumental record that remains a benchmark to this day. Moving through the experimental Odin Owns Ye All (1998) and the incredibly powerful, mature Blot (2003), Einherjer proved their ability to sound heavy and authentic without relying on unnecessary theatricality. Even in later releases like North Star (2021), the band maintains its signature grimness, staying fiercely loyal to the Viking spirit and the roots of extreme metal.
