Dismal Euphony was a Norwegian metal band from Stavanger, formed in 1992. The outfit was a prominent force in the late 1990s Norwegian symphonic and gothic metal scenes. The band's sonic signature fuses aggressive black metal riffs, harsh shrieks, contrasting clean female vocals, epic keyboard soundscapes, and melodic violin passages. Conceptually and lyrically, the band focuses on themes of Nordic folklore, melancholy, dark fairytales, tragic romance, and mysticism. Their discography includes the albums Soria Moria Slott (1996), Autumn Leaves – The Rebellion of Tides (1997), All Little Devils (1999), and Python Zero (2001). The band disbanded in 2001 but left a lasting mark on the Norwegian metal scene.
