Blood (5) is a German death metal / grindcore band formed in 1986 in Speyer, Germany. Initially playing noise-based noisecore, the band developed a more structured approach after drummer Ventilator joined in 1987, eventually establishing their characteristic blend of death metal and grindcore. Blood are regarded as one of Germany's oldest active grindcore bands and an important name in the European underground scene. Conceptually and lyrically, the band is strictly dedicated to anti-religious themes, anti-Christianity, Satanism, societal decay, and gore aesthetics.
