Arckanum is a legendary Swedish black metal project founded in 1992 by Johan “Shamaatae” Lahger in Dalarna. Originally formed as a band, Arckanum soon evolved into Shamaatae’s solo project and became one of the most influential names in the Swedish black metal scene. The project is known for its raw sound, strong atmosphere of Old Norse mysticism, and lyrics inspired by Chaos-Gnosticism and ancient Scandinavian traditions. Among Arckanum’s most notable releases are Fran Marder (1995), Kostogher (1997), Kampen (1998), Antikosmos (2008), and Den förstfödde (2017).
